MSQ recertified mainframes and parts

IBM MSQ re-certification

On all refurbished machines

Every Simon Systems IBM machine is refurbished for MSQ certification standards before shipping. 

Re-certification of computer hardware by IBM is a process in which IBM dispatches a Service Engineer to the hardware site to inspect and re-certify hardware for MSQ support by IBM.  The IBM Service Engineer will run diagnostics, check for physical damage and ensure all ship group items are complete and working.

Once the IBM Service Engineer is satisfied that the hardware has passed all diagnostics and that all ship group items are complete and functional, the Service Engineer will then shrink wrap and seal the equipment with numbered, non removable IBM seals.

An IBM MSQ (Maintenance Service Qualification letter) is attached to the machine.  This letter will list the machine type, model, date of re-certification, IBM seal numbers, MSQ status, as well as the signature of both the IBM Service Engineer and current owner.
